All TMCC academic and administrative faculty invited to January 13th TMCC-NFA luncheon
TMCC-NFA will host a luncheon open to all rank-and-file academic and administrative faculty to discuss the on-going contract negotiations. The luncheon begins at 12:30 PM, following the Administration's spring semester convocation, January 13th in RDMT 256. We'll be serving pizza, salad, and soft drinks.
The luncheon is timely since negotiations resume the following afternoon. During the luncheon, the TMCC-NFA negotiating team will make a presentation on the topics that have been finalized for the new contract, those that are still under discussion, and those that have been rejected by the administration. They will answer your questions and field your suggestions. You will also learn how you can take a more active role in promoting faculty positions in the on-going process.
Since the contract covers all TMCC rank-and-file faculty, the luncheon is open to NFA members and non-members alike. We ask you to please RSVP to help us with the food order.

The Barbarian at the Gate
TMCC-NFA's representative on the President's Council, Paul Davis, aka "the Barbarian at the Gate", reports that the administration is moving to purchase a new building near the Applied Technology Center on Edison Way, build a fire tower adjacent to the Health Science Center on the Redfield campus, tighten network security and rewrite the TMCC institutional mission.
The Council discussed each of these initiatives during its meeting on December 15th. As a shared governance body, the President's Council is open for members of the campus community to attend.

State plans reductions of employee health insurance benefits package for 2026-27
The Public Employees’ Benefits Program (PEBP) Board met on December 12, 2025, to discuss modifications to the plan design for Plan Year 2027, which starts on July 1, 2026. Unfortunately, their decision to reduce benefits in the three different health plans means that state employees, including all NSHE faculty, will be paying more out-of-pocket for health care starting in the next fiscal year. Not all plans will be impacted equally and NFA urges you to review each of the options before the open-enrollment period this spring.
